Well, i've been back in contact with Debbie Claire again and i may very well be getting hold of the lyrics for JLC...finally I've been trying to get her to email me them since Collected was released and it seems that she may well be ready to do so. Last reply (edited) i got was... It's promising, at least, and hopefully i'll have a result soon. Also, i've been onto Sarah Jay to see if she happens to have a copy of the full vocal version of Wire...longshot i know, but can't hurt to ask

Hope it works out Caz. Getting the full studio version of Wire would be the motherload!

Actually just knowing why the song is called Joy Luck Club would be a help.

I'd always figured it was cause it was named after the film about Chinese women and she sounds a bit Chinese on it

I got another reply from Debbie today although still no lyrics...looks like i'm going to have to keep asking her on a regular basis, or send her the bottle of wine and the chocolates i 'promised' her 2 years ago She did reply to my question of how she got to be involved with MA though. Her reply... Hey Cary, I started working with Massive Attack after I sent D a little note and a demo when they were playing a show at Brixton Academy in London. I didn't know if he would get it or not, but a few days after the show he called me and said he like the demo and they would be up for having a go at working on some ideas together ... in my letter I said that if they did ever want to work with someone who sounded like me, that I would make them the best lemon cake they had ever tasted - it obviously clenched the deal So yeah, we started working together, every few months I would go over to the studio to work on ideas, and now we are good friends. It's a funny old world, if you don't ask - you'll never know! D xx
